Planted collects very little. Your settings and reflection history stay on your device. The one word or phrase you enter each day is sent to our backend to generate your notifications — that's it. No accounts. No selling of data. No access to your payment information.
Information We Collect
Your daily word or phrase. When you enter a word each day, it is sent to our backend service (Convex) to generate your reflection notifications. This is the only content you create that leaves your device, and it is used for nothing other than producing your daily reflections.
Notification history and settings. Your notification history, app preferences, and settings are stored locally on your device using iOS's built-in storage. We do not have access to this data.
Purchase confirmation. If you subscribe or purchase a lifetime license, that transaction is handled entirely by Apple. We receive only a confirmation that a valid purchase exists — never your payment details, name, or Apple ID.
No account required. Planted does not ask for your name, email address, or any other identifying information. There is no account to create or sign into.
How We Use Your Information
Your daily word is used exclusively to generate the reflection notifications you receive throughout the day. It is not used for advertising, profiling, analytics, or any purpose beyond making the app work as intended.
Third-Party Services
Convex is our backend service. It receives your daily word and processes it to generate your reflections. Convex stores and handles this data securely and does not use it for its own commercial purposes. You can review their privacy practices at convex.dev/privacy.
Apple handles payment processing via StoreKit and delivers your notifications through Apple Push Notification service (APNs). Apple's privacy policy governs those interactions.
Data Retention
Your reflection history and settings live on your device until you delete the app. Data processed by our backend for notification generation is not retained beyond what is needed to deliver those notifications to you.
Children's Privacy
Planted is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has used the app, please contact us.
Your Choices
You can stop using Planted at any time. Deleting the app removes all locally stored data. To cancel a subscription, visit your Apple ID account settings. If you have questions or requests related to data we may hold on our backend, contact us and we will respond promptly.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the app evolves. The effective date at the top of this page will always reflect when it was last changed. Continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
